Lockups Are Built The Same Way As A Modern Home. We Call Them Storage Rooms – You’ll Love It.

Out of 240 self-storage lockups rooms at our place we have 27 sizes (Click Here to view) – just 3 are shipping containers (SC) and no steel storage sheds (sheds). SCs and sheds are sometimes cheaper, but some insurance companies often won’t insure stuff stored in them because effectively they are just a steel box. This is because shipping containers and sheds are known to sweat and get very hot in summer, and they are known to drip condensation in winter. Because at Masterton Self-Storage our self-storage lockup rooms are all inside purpose-built buildings (the same construction as a modern home including being fully lined like a room at your place) we guarantee all your stuff stays dry from condensation or you don’t pay…it’s free. We advise our customers if their stuff is of limited value then a SC or shed storage is fine however, please be aware our guarantee does not cover stuff stored inside a SC.

Security. Your stuff is way more secure at our place than it is at your place and insurance companies love it because of this. All major insurance companies have inspected our facility, and some have even referred their customers to us for self-storage. While most other self-storage firms use PIN numbers at a keypad at the entry gate we do not. How safe is a PIN number if just one of the customers gives their PIN number to some of their crooked and or dodgy mates? Our security system uses swipe-cards. The same as hotel rooms – one swipe-card per customer for each individual self-storage lockup room or area. All swipe-cards are individually monitored by the Wellington-based security firm Monitor New Zealand – but they are a nation-wide security firm – that is like having your own personal security guard stationed outside your lockup’s door 24/7 – how good is that? All customers with a swipe-card have the convenience of getting access to their stuff 7-days-a-week (or 24/7 if they choose) including outside of our usual office hours. Our premises are also flood-lite at night to aid security guard patrols and to make it unwelcoming to intruders. And finally, we have 18 CCTV cameras operating 24/7 which means we always have a 12-day record of who is at our facility and what they are doing there.

Full-Time Staff On Site. Because this business is locally owned and operated (not some large Wellington or Ozzy mob), we are available on site to help and give advice every weekday from 9am to 4:15pm – except statutory holidays. Even on weekends and statutory holidays you’ll be able to get us after hours on the phone 80% of the time using our 0800 free calling number. We can send photos or take a short video of a suitable storage room for you to view. And we can email you the paperwork and payment can be made with by internet banking or our website payment portal. When the furniture removal truck arrives, we will usher them to your lockup room and after everything is packed away nicely, we will take a photo of it for your records, lock the door, alarm your lockup’s security alarm, and then notify you your job is completed. We make it easy.

Early-Book Your Storage And It Will Be Held Free. Because we are usually 95% full, if you just turn up on the day you need storage chances are we won’t be able to offer you the best size, or perhaps anything at all. To get around this, and for your convenience, we offer a service that lets you book your lockup room up to 2 weeks before you need it for free (even longer in advance by pre-arrangements – see below). New Booking-In-Advance System – Further To ‘Early-Book’ Above. You may want to secure a preferred-size self-storage lockup room but do not need it for perhaps another 6 to 8 weeks – maybe even longer. You are in luck because we can do this for you too. With Early-Book (above) you can book a specific lockup 2-weeks free in advance. But however, with Booking-In-Advance (this system) you can now book a Preferred Size lockup up to 6-months in advance by paying a non-refundable booking deposit equal to the first month’s fees.

Although at the time of booking we will not be able to allocate you a specific lockup room we will however guarantee you a lockup of the same quality or better than you choose, we will guarantee you the same size/s you want or bigger than you choose (at no additional cost), and we guarantee you a fixed price for the first 6-months from the start of your self-storage license term.

If for any unforeseen reason we cannot meet our guarantee your booking deposit will be refunded in full, AND we will give you the first month on any other lockup you choose for free. This means Booking-In-Advance is 100% risk free.
